“Warzone Content Creators Get Exclusive “Whitelist” Access”
Let’s begin with an explanation of what a whitelist is – it’s a specific matchmaking system setting that Activision (or one of its subsidiaries) assigns to content creators, allowing them to have bot (easy) lobbies.
This practice has been criticized by many content creators, both partners and non-partners of Activision. The main argument is the presence of very easy lobbies, especially for streamers with high K/D ratios.
Now, it might be logical to assume that there aren’t 150 esports athletes available to populate lobbies with 6 K/D ratios, so why do they often end up in lobbies with 0.6-0.8 K/D players?
I’m not making any claims, and, in fact, I’m quite certain that even if this is the case, all major content creators are skilled players themselves. However:
The whitelist does indeed exist. We saw this during the World Series of Warzone, where they didn’t create custom lobbies but rather pulled players from the whitelist into regular public lobbies, and those same 150 individuals easily found each other.
What do you think? Let’s take a poll!
