New Season 5 for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone is already in the game
In celebration of the new season, the game developers didn’t hold back and released a gameplay trailer that looks truly impressive. The next season is about to begin very soon, on August 12th. Currently, it’s not entirely clear what awaits players in the new season. Activision will provide more details closer to the start of the season. For now, all we can do is wait.
In the video, we can only notice a new character, who has already been introduced in other parts of the series. The new character is a girl who breaks into and hacks every radio station. She is immediately pursued by a squad of people but manages to escape easily. At this point, it’s just a video that doesn’t reveal much about the storyline.
New weapons will be added to the game, specifically the TEC-9 pistol. This weapon will make its debut in the game series.
As always, let’s list all the main innovations first and then focus on each of them.
3 new operators, a battle pass (with a twist), 4 weapons, and new bundles.
New mid-season event

The coolest thing is that this mode essentially reflects the seasonal storyline.
It’s a mix of hide-and-seek, Among Us, and Mafia (the real-life game), and I really liked it. It will be great to play with friends. Here are the rules:
Start with up to 10 players in the lobby, each with their own role:
Everyone starts with a pistol, and during the preparation phase, you need to collect your gear in specific locations on the map.
Exclusive to Double Agents: Counter-Spy Plane, Gas Mines, Combat Bow, Attack Helicopter, and Radiation Protection
Exclusive to Detectives: Active Defense, Stimshots, Hand Cannons, and they can see footprints.
They can also mark suspicious players. Voice chat is encouraged. I think this is a very interesting mode, and if executed well, it could overshadow entire games.

The attackers must detonate bombs, while the defenders must prevent them from doing so.
Available later in the season.

No surprises here; it’s just a flamethrower. Interestingly, it was actually leaked back in Season 2 – Cold War will soon have a flamethrower, which is cool. It will likely also be added to Warzone, which may not be as cool. On the other hand, it could be a killstreak like the bow or war machine.

You can buy unique emblems or calling cards there for prestige keys (you get 1 every 50 levels).

The Death Perception perk, unexpectedly enough. What does it do? It marks hidden zombies, seemingly to prepare for new waves, but they say the true value of the perk is revealed after it’s upgraded.

Tesla Storm – activates a chain of lightning between you and your allies, injuring and stunning regular zombies. When upgraded, it speeds up the team, injures and stuns special and elite enemies.

The first map for Outbreak outside of the Ural Mountains is Collateral. Story-wise, Outbreak is now after Mauer der Toten. They will add a lot of things from there, such as disciples, suicide bombers, and possibly some fantastic weapons.

Transport – you must board and control the transport and deliver it to a specific location.

Very slow, it fires from a cannon and a machine gun, but effective against hordes.

I was waiting for this to be added. It was in Blackout. It’s tactical equipment and looks very cool and useful.

Activision mentions that we should expect the most from the Warzone update, which is already presented (I will tell you about it soon).
Weapon balance – this is what they’ve been working on in previous seasons, so if they said it, it means they won’t change it significantly anymore, especially considering yesterday’s mini-update.
Now, 2 new perks:
And, as we know, Awareness can detect dead silence. I think these are cool perk changes for aggressive players.

I was both close and far:
The trailer showed 2 new trucks – mobile broadcast stations. They are obviously needed for operator hypnosis, but it looks like an update for the precious cargo.
I think this is a new permanent mode for Warzone. Or maybe these mobile stations are new mini-locations, like satellites, with tasks to complete, but their main purpose is to diversify/change the terrain.
We don’t know exactly what they do, but we do know that they appear in a new location every game and provide specific loot. It seems you can stay near them for a short time. The plot will be tied to them.

Now it’s based on the Rush map. It’s cool that they keep changing it, but honestly, nothing beats the original showers, and it’s a shame.

Actually, it’s an updated Rumble, which they’ve already leaked a long time ago, but it’s also a mix with Assassins.
Here are the conditions:
In the description, they explicitly say it’s multiplayer in Warzone; collect guns, unlock camos, and test loadouts.
Available later in the season.

I have no doubt it will also be in Cold War, but the description is primarily Warzone-oriented.
For now, nothing is known except:
Later in the season. I think they will send us to closed locations like mines or bunkers.

Treyarch seems to have run out of standard weapons unlockable through levels and they started to get creative:

Such a thing has never happened before, but in the Battle Pass, you get a skin for Kitsune in the first tier and an ultra-rare skin for Kitsune at tier 100.
But, if you get the Battle Pass in the first 2 weeks of the season, you’ll get another Kitsune skin.
Activision themselves said that the information for Warzone is incomplete:
Warzone and Modern Warfare will stop supporting Windows 7 on September 8th, and Cold War on September 7th. So, update your Windows; there’s still time. Smells like anti-cheat.
