On June 7th, Valve released the long-awaited update for the closed beta of Counter-Strike 2. One of the major changes was the replacement of Dust 2 with Mirage in CS 2. Mirage retains its legendary look in CS 2, with minor improvements in textures and lighting. Positions and angles remain the same.
In addition, Valve did not reveal the full list of maps for CS 2, but in trailers and developer materials, screenshots of nine maps were noticed, including Overpass, Nuke, Baggage, Inferno, Train, Ancient, and Italy. Earlier, insiders spotted Valve developers working on versions of Cobblestone, Shortdust, Lake, and Shoots for Source 2.
Despite the changes, classic strategies on Mirage still work, as verified by the player SmuEy. However, new smokes sometimes glitch, and you can’t disperse them with a grenade. Some changes have also been made to the map, for example, the kitchen on the way to B has turned green, and you can now shoot through the iron bars in the ladder, and grenades can pass through the opening as well.
All in all, the CS 2 update has left a positive impression, and players are eagerly anticipating more changes and new maps in the future.
