Interesting Feature of Chernobylite – the Ability to Finish the Game Early

Early game endings have become a staple in many popular titles. Take Ubisoft’s Far Cry series, for instance. Players can deliberately avoid completing quests to trigger the game’s final scenarios. Similarly, the developers behind Chernobylite have incorporated this feature right from the get-go.

Imagine this: as the main protagonist heads towards the accident-ridden Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, accompanied by Anton and Olivier, a brief cinematic unfolds. Once the dialogue-driven scene concludes, Igor has the option to turn around and head back in the opposite direction of the power plant. This leads him back to the car, and the game prompts the player to leave the zone. If Igor agrees, it’s a one-way ticket back to the main menu.

It seems the option for an early game ending was a last-minute addition by the developers, as it does come across as somewhat counterintuitive.
