Warzone creators ask cheaters to play fair, while regular gamers start playing guerrilla warfare

The number of players downloading Warzone continues to grow. However, the amazing atmosphere of the Battle Royale is severely affected by cheaters. Honest players often struggle with detecting cheats and have to rely solely on their intuition.
If you watch any video where a player uses cheats, many gamers will simply note the player’s exceptionally high skill level. But local communities continue to suspect virtually every gamer of using cheats.
Moreover, it’s nearly impossible to detect a cheater who acts discreetly, and they are often equated with good players. This is especially true since there are many skilled gamers in Call of Duty, as it attracts generations of shooter enthusiasts.
Due to constant suspicions of virtually all opponents, the gameplay gradually turns into a guerrilla war against cheaters. People form groups, go on hunts for players with the right equipment, and deal with cheaters harshly.
Recently, gamers playing Warzone on consoles decided to boycott PC players, urging them to give up crossplay. However, this didn’t work out since only PS4 players can participate in the boycott.
Of course, the development team constantly monitors and bans cheaters, and there are indeed many of them. For example, a player with 661 million victories was recently spotted in the top ranks. It’s logical to assume that they couldn’t achieve such success on their own, especially when compared to the number of wins of lower-ranked gamers.
All of this gradually erodes the Warzone community as it gets bogged down in resentment, anger, and disputes. So how did the game creators respond to all of this? Did they just issue a few warnings? Not quite!
Infinity Ward stated that they are pleased with the increase in cheater bans, and active work is underway to develop an anti-cheat system, led by Activision. In the meantime, Warzone is using double protection with BattlEye and Easy Anti-Cheat, so the game will eventually be rid of persistent rule breakers.
Today, many streamers note that they encounter cheaters in Warzone almost every hour, which is much more frequent than in other Battle Royale games. This is highly unfair to other players.
Recently, one of the popular esports players, Kona, admitted to using cheats in the Fortnite Champion Series and streamed it, successfully reaching the qualification finals. Kona’s actions only confirm that it’s currently impossible to completely eliminate this problem because a perfect anti-cheat system has not yet been developed.
Given the overwhelmingly negative situation, what can the developers at Infinity Ward realistically do? Just release a post asking dishonest gamers to stop cheating, behave honestly, and not ruin the gameplay for their opponents and comrades in arms.
In this post, the developers also asked cheaters to be “decent,” show tolerance, and forget about game data editing programs, trainers, aimbots, wallhacks, etc.
